Today's technlogy is getting smaller and more powerful. Upon the discovery of atoms, mankind has been very curious on
how these tiny particles act as a component when combined to form a viable material. This curiosity brings out, what if, we
(humans) can build starting from the atomic level then create a product that is much better than what we used to have. The
end result created the birth of nanotechnology. It has been realized through the help of various fields of Physics, Biology,
and Chemistry, all brought together, the information necessary to revolutionize the engineering of matter at the molecular
level and atomic level.

What the future might be...

Ever since the time of the Greeks, man has believed that when dividing up matter we will eventually reach a point
where we can no longer divide because we have found the vital unit of matter, referred to as the atom. And now, we have arrived at that point. Nanotechnology, in
short nanotech, is defined as work on a scale of less than 100 nanometers. A
nanometer is one billionth of a meter or about the size of 10 atoms of hydrogen in a straight line. In other words, Nanotechnology is the creation of materials or devices at the atomic level. This means that the object created can be the same size of a virus or just a little bigger than a molecule.

Nanotech has already been developed in some industries like in cars to build stronger
and lighter materials than steel but the greatest benefits are still to come. The
benefits of nanotech is beyond what we can imagine, which is to banish hunger and disease; provide abundant energy, and all
the material things people want. It even promises the extension of life and the
possibility of immortality. How can we ignore such tremendous improvement in
the quality of human life? Of course, there are risks, but it is just miniscule
compared to what nanotech can provide. I agree that mankind should take the leap
into a new evolution, which is nanotechnology. But for the sake of precaution,
we must set regulations or directives to be enforced.
